MSC Software Corp. has announced the 2014.2 release of Marc, its general-purpose, nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) solution for simulating part and product behavior under static, dynamic and multiphysics loading conditions. The Marc 2014.2 release, in conjunction with the Adams 2015 release from MSC, provides a new solution to systems that involve both nonlinear structural analysis requiring the power of Marc and nonlinear multi-body dynamics (MBD) as provided by Adams.

The computational performance in the Marc 2014.2 release may be improved by using the new parallel CASI iterative solver. In the Marc 2014.2 release, the importing of CAD models has been modified, and there has been the discontinuance of a previous capability; see marc_2014.2_doc_release.pdf for more details
